The Proud team celebrated the organisation’s 8th birthday at the Boracay Gardens — a Filipino restaurant in Auckland. They wore different colours of t-shirts to represent the colours of the rainbow flag.
Before anything else, we would like to thank all of you for your continuous support and for being Proud of who and what you are.
It has been eight incredible years since Proud Campaign was founded by Isaac Loyola. It used to focus on femmes and butches (Superbly Proud or SP) but innovated to LGBTQA+ not long after to accommodate the interest of the whole queer community. They have been promoting self-worth for years now and so far have touched queer people’s lives by inspiring them to be more confident with their sexuality and gender.
